This is a conversation between students who are sharing the same accommodation. They've just met and want to get to know each other without being too pushy:
Student 1: Hi, I'm Jo.
Student 2: Alright - I'm Sharna. It's nice to meet you.
Student 1: good to meet you too. Are you new here too?
Student 2: Yeah, I just moved in today. How about you?
Student 1: I got here Friday but I'm still getting used to everything.
Student 2: I know what you mean. It can be a bit overwhelming at first.
Student 1: Yeah, but it's also really exciting. I'm looking forward to meeting new people . Most people seem to be arriving today.
Student 1 : is your room on this floor as well?
Student 2: Yes just down the corridor on the left. Which is yours?
Student 1 : No 5 - just over there
Student 2 : Have you met anyone else in the block?
Student 1 : only a couple of people but I didn't really get a chance to chat with them. Hopefully we’ll catch up with everyone a little later
Student 2: Yes it will be good to put some names to faces. So, what are you studying?
Student 1: computer science.What about you?
Student 2: That's cool. I'm studying business.
Student 1: Nice. What do you want to do after you graduate?
Student 2: I'm not sure yet. I'm thinking about going into marketing, but I'm going to keep my options open and see if anything else takes my fancy.
Student 1: Umm . So, have you moved all your stuff in yet?
Student 2: yes just got the last box in. Can’t be bothered to unpack yet though.
Student 1: what are you doing for the rest of the day?
Student 2: I'm not sure yet. I might go explore campus or just relax. What about you?
Student 1: Shall I show you around the campus a bit? I’ll show you where you can get something to eat and we can try and find your block where your lectures will be. I think it's the next one down from mine?
Student 1 : That sounds great . Let me grab my bag and we can go now if you like
Student 2: OK, I’ll get my coat and meet you back here in 5 mins
